Get to know the environmental superhero whale: Liva!
In the platform, you’ll get to know the brave and wise whale, LIVA, who constantly seeks the help of children for new exciting and exploratory missions to find creative ways to save the planet.
Once a month, LIVA sends missions by letters to the children, encouraging them to explore topics within sustainable development and to understand the context of why we, as humans, perform certain actions that are beneficial for the planet, such as recycling.
Building knowledge in practice
Our passion lies in recognizing the value of the resources already present in our surroundings and exploring how everything is interconnected. Sustainable development primarily involves meeting our basic needs without compromising the well-being of future generations.
All our activities, circle times, and missions are based on resources already existing in a daycare setting, in the environment, or easily accessible from parents without the need for new purchases.
In the platform, daycare staff can easily seek inspiration across various subject areas or utilize existing resources, such as “egg cartons,” to find ideas for activities involving the reuse of egg cartons, fostering reflective conversations with the children.
Through these activities, both adults and children can explore how things are interconnected and how they come into existence. Examples include circular economy, ecosystems, wind power, natural phenomena, textiles, reuse, and the decomposition process.
We recommend all platform users to create their own “reuse boxes” to collect reusable materials for exciting new activities.
Global sharing
Today, there is minimal sharing of activities and daycare content across different daycare centers and professionals. This requires many daycare staff to invest a significant amount of time and creativity in developing new educational activities, which, in turn, need to be shared with others in the department.
Wileo collaborates with daycare centers globally, promoting the sharing of activities based on knowledge building in sustainability on the platform. In the platform, activities can be favorited, saved, shared with colleagues, or customized with personal activities.
Our ambition is for professionals worldwide to collectively enhance knowledge through a community-driven approach, incorporating educational and sustainable activities—simply and efficiently.
